The Kadayawan is a traditional annual event of thanksgiving for a good harvest, so that the succeeding season will also be a bountiful one

This festival is marked with enjoyable activities that will surely catch the eyes and mood of the both Davaoeños and visiting guests, mainly because of the historical uniqueness being uncovered in a week long celebration. The Kadayawan never fails to leave the participating crowd in awe.

There is also the Floral Float parade; and display of domestic food and fruits such as the Durian and Marang. Other very interesting among the many are the Mindanao Indigenous Dance Festival and Indak-indak sa Dalan (Street dancing).

Kadayawan is just one of the many ways which depicts to the world the sub-cultures of the diverse Filipino culture-distinctive yet creating an aura of harmony. It is just right to thank God for His steadfast abundant blessings. Nature is His gift and its goodness still inundates despite the rampant cruelty in he society-and in Mindanao as a whole. Besides, a gesture of gratefulness is only what it takes to show our appreciation to our Creator for all the beatitudes coming the way of the “Land of Promise".
