The airport.  Just a little ways past this building make a left. This road that will take you towards the state park.  Go two miles past the airport and you will come to the only gas station on the island. After you turned left from the airport,  go about 1 mile,  the road will end here. This store is on the corner.  You can buy beer, soda, ice and most important FIRE WOOD here. Make a left to go into the state park or a right to go towards town.

The Islands name is South Bass, hence South Bass State Park.  Put-in-Bay is the name of the community.  Make a right to enter or go straight to the beach.  The golf course is on your left now. This is the Park Rangers office.  You must check in here first.  They will tell you the procedure and availability of campsites and cabins in the park.  Campsites are $16 per night for two tents. Call ahead to make reservations at 419-285-2112

Here is the beach area.  Jet ski rental is available for $40 per 1/2 hour.  In the background is the campsite area over looking the lake.  They are great sites as long as there is not a strong west wind blowing off the lake !!  Hold on to your tent!!  The campsites inside the park are   well protected from the wind with trees. Like golf ?  Right before the beach area and just across from the picnic shelter area at the park is the only nine hole golf course on the island.  It is not bad.  A nice time to relax and enjoy the day.  I believe it was $7 to play and $5 to rent clubs.  P.S.  they also have misc. food supplies in case you don't want to go all the way to the store.

Well here I am at the campsite. Unloading everything.   Getting it all set up.  One picnic table and one fire place.  Don't forget to bring a cover for the table.  I believe you can have 2 tents, 6 people, and only one vehicle per campsite.   Before you take Millers Ferry across to the island  there is a place you can leave your car.  A kind of  long/short term parking.  It is safe.  I have used it.  It is a grass outdoor lot on your left just before you turn right to go down by the ferry landing, and I think it was $3 per day.  You just pile every ones supplies into one car and one person will drive onto the ferry and the rest will walk.  No big deal, every one does it.  If you need a ride to the campsite because your car is full, then on the island as you get off the ferry, look for a blue or a yellow van.  These are the islands taxi service vans.  They take you anywhere you want to go on the island for only $2 or $3 per person.
